Final Words: Nolasport invited me out to capture the new GT3 Cup a day in advance. Wow! Of course, you would like a bit more time to prepare for such an amazing car, but if someone invites you to take pictures of a brand new race car, “no” isn’t an acceptable answer.

You know, I’ve done a many shoots with some pretty fantastic cars, but I haven’t been this excited in a while. The 911 GT3 Cup without decals and liveries is something to behold. And if you weren't keen, you could easily mistake it for just another street legal supercar. Upon closer inspection, that “Ahah!” moment comes about as you notice the plexiglass windows, bald tires, MASSIVE wing, and lack of any sort of creature comforts.

Shooting proved to be difficult. As thankful as I am that NOLA Motorsports allowed us to photograph the car, it isn’t necessarily the aesthetically pleasing track there is. In addition, the technician wasn’t assigned to be in until far after sunrise, so all the good light had passed. And just to add insult to injury, the track was being occupied for testing. It truly forced me to be creative.

We took it under the pavilion, choosing to work with the leading lines of the structure seems. Afterwards, it was placed in front of the hospitality center. The lovely read building complimented the light blue skies.

We went off to a go-cart track to capture a few more images, then called it a day—all in all, a great shoot.

Thank you dearly, Nolasport.
